It is great to hear that you are a Christian Valerie, this is such a wonderful thing to hear. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog Valerie, I really do appreciate it. I have put the lyrics to What a friend we have in Jesus below.
Just remember that you have a great friend, his name is Jesus. I think sometimes we overcomplicate the Christian life, we need to come to Jesus in a childlike way, with a simple faith an expectant faith that will move mountains.
We worship a supernatural God has the power to turn around any situation, nothing is too big to God! Next time you have a problem or need this prop a breakthrough, take it to the Lord in prayer, because he is your faithful friend! Can I suggest that throughout your working day you take everything to the Lord in prayer, why suffer when we can take everything to the Lord in prayer! Have you had a disagreement with your best friend and do you feel very disappointed that they haven’t understood you? Misunderstandings will happen, disappointments will come, but the great thing is that we take it to Jesus and give it to him in prayer, he can break and change the situation. Many times I ask people if they have prayed about a particular issue and often the answer is no, it’s almost as though the problem is too big, but nothing is too big for our God! Have you had a disagreement? If only we would pray, and when I say pray, I mean to pray in faith that Jesus is the answer to our problems. But, the good news is, help is available, many times we get deep into our problems, we phone a friend, we look on the Internet for the answer, but actually, the answer is right next to you. I think most of us have suffered from trials and troubles and sometimes we just do not know which way to turn, it can be difficult. But Jesus is a faithful friend, he will never let you down, you will never disappoint you and he has given you eternal life, how is that for a faithful friend! Do you have trials and troubles? Have you ever been let down by your best friend, maybe you trust them with everything, your life, your money, your words? But then you tell them something in strictest confidence, only to discover that they have shared your secret that someone else, this could be so disappointing. This is such a wonderful thing, answer prayers and shows things we didn’t even know! Have you ever been let down? Jeremiah 33:3 says, “3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”. I think every single one of us has faced discouragement at some point in there life, but it is amazing thing that however low and discouraged that we may feel, we can take it to the Lord in prayer and he will answer us. I think that we all have good friends who we can share our hearts with and tell them everything, as the song says, “What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer”! I find it utterly amazing that we can share our problems and success stories with Jesus and he will hear a cry for help or our joy, he wants to communicate with us. I love the fact that when I said yes to Jesus, he put a new born again spirit inside me, which totally changed my thinking and transformed me into something totally new! Romans 12:2 is a great passage, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. A Christian needs discipling, I cannot underestimate the benefits and importance of having strong spirit filled Christian friends around us, to help us grow things of God.
Here is a video to the song below, you may like to listen quietly as you read.Īs you know, we need good strong people around us, to help us prosper, grow and to encourage us, I believe that in the Christian life this is even more important.
